Day 1 - Anuradhapura
Meet and greet by our 'Visit Sri Lanka Tours' staff and transfer to Anuradhapura.
Day 2 - Jaffna
After breakfast checkout and transfer to Jaffna. Evidences relating to Ramayana recount that Mandodari, the Queen of King Rawana was from Mannar and that Asura Mayan, the father of Mandodari built this ancient Temple of Thirukethiswaram to worship Shiva. According to one Hindu legend, Bhrigu Muni worshipped Shiva at this shrine. Another tradition holds that the Hindu planetary god Kethu worshipped Shiva at the shrine, thus creating the shrine’s name “Ketheeswaram”. Another legend is found in the Skanda Purana, an ancient work in Sanskrit of which the antiquity is unknown. It consists of 2500 verses.
Day 3 - Trincomalee
After breakfast checkout and explore more Jaffna city and transfer to Trincomalee. Drive pass by Mullivaykkal, Mullaitivu, Nandikadal the area was badly affected by internal war. Visit to Thirukoneswaram Sivan Temple, was build by sage Agathiyar as per the instruction of Lord Siva who was impressed by the devotion of King Ravana. This place has the uniqueness of the Lord building a temple for his devotee as a reward for his devotion. Lord Rama also offered his prayers on his return to get rid of the Brahmastra Do-sham. Also visit to Kinniya Hots Spring. The Kinniya Hot Well comprise seven warm natural springs enclosed in seven square shaped wells. the spring water is thought to have therapeutic properties, those with skin problems or ailments such as arthritis and rheumatism come have looking for relief. Since the wells are too small to bathe in locals and pilgrims use buckets to pour water over themselves- tourists are encouraged to join in too. The temperature of water varies in each of the Vishnu wells. There are two legends associated with the wells. One of these claims that Lord Vishnu created the wells when he appeared to Ravana on this spot. It is believed that when Lord Vishnu struck the ground with his sward , water poured fourth.
Day 4 - Kandy
After breakfast checkout and transfer to Kandy. En-route if interested visit Dambulla golden rock Buddhist temple Visit Dambulla Golden Rock Cave Temple. (Optional) Entrance fee not included. This is the most celebrated and venerated Buddhist cave temple of Srilanka. Belongs to 01st century which was created and donated by King Walagambahu to Buddhist Monks. Dambulla is a World Heritage Site and is the most important and impressive cave complex of five with over 22,000 sq feet painted wals and ceilings is the largest founded in the world. Also over 150 images of Buddha, Gods, Goddess, Bodhisattva (future Buddha) and Kings etc..
Day 5 - Nuwaraeliya
After breakfast checkout. Today transferring to Tea country Nuwaraeliya - The hill city located 6500 feet above mean sea level. Before leave explore bit more about Kandy city. KANDY-The name conjures vision of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake build by the last king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1978. But his original name is Kannusamy the Dravidian came from India to fight against the Dutch invasion. Visit town and bazaar the Art & Craft Center. a Gem Museum and lapidary . Drive continue to Nuwaraelia visit to Baktha Anuman Temple. On these hills of Ramboda where Anjaneyar was searching for Sitadevi, Chinmaya mission of Srilanka build a temple with Hanuman as the presiding deity. 18 ft tall Statue of Anuman carved out of complete granite cliff brought from Magavalipuram-India and enshrined.
Day 6 - Kathirgamam
Explore the Little England city and then transfer to Kathirgamam.. Nuwara Eliya The 'Little England' of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coolest places in the Island, but it is really just like an English spring day, although the temperature does drop at night. All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence, houses like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions. The Victoria Park, in the middle of the town, is a lovely place for a stroll or a picnic and is also good for Birding as you get some rare birds in this Park. Seasons may be absent elsewhere in Sri Lanka, but here you can read them by the flowers. En-route drive through Ella water falls, mini Adams peak, Divurumpola the place where Seethai Amman went in to Agni.
Day 7 - Habaraduwa
After breakfast checkout and transfer to Habaraduwa. Drive through Hambantota harbour and along the South coast line. Panoramic sea view.
Day 8 - Colombo
After breakfast late check out and transfer to Colombo. Morning hours enjoy on the beach. After reach Colombo quick explore Colombo city and shopping. Explore Colombo. City Tour of Commercial Capital City - Colombo. Do City / Shopping tour of Colombo. Driving through the Commercial area of the Fort so named because both the Portuguese and Dutch had the Fort at this point. Drive passed Pettah a noisy oriental bazaars with the hotch-potch of humanity, Asis Vehicle, bargains,Mosque and Temples. Visit Hindu Temple and drive pass Jummi Ul Alfar Jumma Mosque, continue the tour to the Wolvendaal Dutch Church, Hausdorff Law Court, to the Memorial International Memorial Conference Hall. Also, visits the Ceramic Corporation showroom, Majestic City Shopping Complex, House of Fashion, and the Odell Unlimited Department Store.
Day 9 - End of Tour
After breakfast checkout and do more shopping and sightseeing. Enjoy lunch and continue shopping and then transfer to airport
